A wooden box covered with an ornamental & intricately carved brass sheet. Used as a tissue holder, this is an adornment in itself kept atop the dining table. Brass work on wood is a craft form prevalent in Rajasthan and UP. A thin brass metal sheet is first repoussed (hammered from the reverse side to create a low relief) and then chased (refined on the front side) to present intricate designs. The sheet is then glued and nailed onto a wooden article & oxidization is done to give an antique look.
